FAQ
Will the makeup last all day?
Yes, your makeup will last, however here are a few tips to help our good work along:
Invest in a quality powder. If you tend to become a little shiny throughout the day (especially in summer), having a powder with you for touch ups will have you looking brand new within seconds. We recommend Motives Cosmetics HD translucent powder – it’s lightweight and wont cake on your skin.
Lipstick and lip-gloss. You will need to reapply. Long lasting lipsticks can be dry and aging and not the most comfortable to wear, so it’s better to go for a more hydrating texture. We do offer a touch up kit for brides on the big day so that’s one less thing you need to worry about.
What products do you use?
At Bright Makeup we are not loyal to one particular beauty brand. We prefer to use a range of quality makeup products from a variety of well known cosmetic brands. Think of it more as a collection of all our favourites, an ever changing kit influenced by the constant supply of new makeup on the market. We stay in touch with all the latest and greatest beauty products, but don't depart easily with our favourties and those of many makeup artists. Products such as Nars' blush in 'Orgasm' or Mac's diverse collection of lipsticks or the flawless finish of Laura Mercier's 'Silk Creme Foundation' Some of our most popular cosmetic brands include: Nars, Mac Cosmetics, Makeup for Ever, Laura Mercier, Stilla, Gorgeous Cosmetics & Motives Cosmetics
If you have a favourite be sure to let us know.
What areas do you service?
Bright Makeup is a mobile hair & makeup service however we do have a studio in Bright when needed. We find most brides want to be able to stay in the comfort of their accommodation, with their family and friends on the day of their wedding. For this reason we are happy to travel to you. Areas include all of North East Victoria, including Bright, Porepunkah, Wandiligong, Harrietville, Myrtleford, Mount Beauty and the ski resorts, Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Dinner Plain. Travel costs do apply and depend on the travel time. Please feel free to enquire and specific costs can be provided.
Can I change my booking time?
This is dependent on your artists schedule and may not always be possible to do so at a later stage. Make sure you talk to your photographer before you book in your makeup and hair to be sure you have the timing correct.
Is a trial absolutely necessary?
No. A trial is for you to see your artists work prior to the wedding and try any looks you may have in mind. If you are confident and happy to book your wedding straight in that is fine by us. A trial is really for peace of mind and can reduce the time completing your makeup on the wedding day.
Do we charge less for mother of the bride?
No, we charge the same amount for everyone. If someone has a lot of hair that requires additional time for preparation and styling we do charge by the hour. This is all confirmed prior to the big day.
Does the makeup have to be heavy for the photo?
No, it doesn’t have to be heavy but it does have to be applied properly using the right products for you. A professional makeup artist knows how to bring out your features, even out skin tone and ensure that you look the very best you can be
Is there a limit to how many people I can have in the bridal party?
There is no limit! We can cater for one person or as many as you want. My record wedding party to date was 10 people and we all survived. With plenty of planning we will make sure to have enough artists with us on the day to have you all made up in the time frame we coordinate together.
